About the label
Local pride, played loud.
Why we exist
Dance music has always been tied to place — Detroit, Berlin, Ibiza. We think Newry deserves its own sound — a city on the border of Armagh and Down, between the Mournes and the Ring of Gullion, with three centuries of trade, faith and community behind it. Newry comes first; other towns may follow.
DJ Colum H
Community Pulse Records was founded by DJ Colum H as the home for his original productions. The label has its own identity, separate from his DJ bookings, and every release to date is written and produced by him.
Stories as sound
Each community anthem begins with research: a landmark, an anniversary, a local legend. Field recordings, rhythms and melodies are shaped around it, and every story is reviewed before publication.
Musical direction
Techno with weight, trance with lift, house with warmth. Club-ready productions that still carry the character of the place that inspired them.
The long view
A growing catalogue of community anthems, commissioned tracks for towns and events, compilations — and, in time, new artists who share the same idea.
